Is the latest elderberry study legit or just hype?

Just read this new study on elderberry for colds (PMID: 12345678). Seems promising but I'm skeptical. Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

I saw that! Tbh, I've been using elderberry syrup for years and swear by it. But studies can be biased by funding. Check who paid for it.

Med student here. The sample size was small (n=60) and it was only 5 days. Also, no placebo control? That's a red flag. I'd wait for more robust data.

Retired nurse here. Elderberry has been used for ages, but modern studies vary. I'd say it's safe in moderation, but don't expect miracles. Always check with your doc.

Thanks all! Good points. I'll take it with a grain of salt (or sugar? lol). Maybe I'll stick to my gummy vitamins for now.
