Hey folks, I'm heading on a hiking trip to Colorado and want to bring my elderberry gummies for immune support. But I'm worried about them melting in my backpack during the flight or in the heat. Also, anyone know TSA rules for gummies? I don't want to get stopped. Thanks!

Great question! Gummies typically have a melting point around 90-100°F, so in a hot plane cargo hold or direct sun, they can get sticky. I'd recommend keeping them in your carry-on, in an insulated bag or with an ice pack. TSA treats supplements like food – just keep them in original packaging if possible. No liquids rule applies, so gummies are fine.

I always bring my gummies in a reusable silicone pouch – reduces waste and they don't stick. Also, avoid leaving them in a hot car! For travel, I freeze them beforehand – they thaw fine and stay firm. TSA hasn't ever questioned my gummies, just don't bring a liquid version.

I've traveled with elderberry gummies many times. They do soften in heat, but I've never had them fully melt. A tip: store them in a cool place like a ziplock bag with a damp paper towel (not touching) to keep humidity low. Also, your body's energy might be better with a tincture for travel – just my holistic two cents!
