Dietitian says eat more whole foods? Not sure how fiber gummies fit in
Just read this article about eating less ultraprocessed food. The dietitians' top tip is basically to prioritize whole foods. But like, what about fiber gummies? Aren't those technically processed? I've been using them to up my fiber intake but now I'm worried. Thoughts?
I think the key is 'ultraprocessed.' Fiber gummies are processed but not in the same way as like, Twinkies. They're more like a supplement. I use them too, and I'm Paleo, so I get it. The article is probably talking about things with tons of additives and artificial stuff. Just check your label - if it's clean, you're fine.
Yeah, I'm Keto and I use fiber gummies to help with... you know, digestion. The article's tip is solid for most people but if you're like me and can't eat fruits/veggies high in carbs, gummies are a life saver. I'd say don't overthink it - gummies are better than no fiber at all.
Thanks guys, that makes me feel better. I guess I'll keep taking them but also try to add more spinach and stuff. Balance, right?
