Fiber Gummies: Study claims psyllium beats all - legit or biased?
Just saw a new study (PMID: 34567890) saying psyllium fiber gummies lower cholesterol way more than other fibers. But it was funded by a big supplement company. Thoughts? I just want simple, effective stuff.
As a med student, I'd look at the study design. Was it randomized? Double-blind? Also look at conflict of interest. Funding doesn't automatically mean bias, but it's a red flag. Psyllium is well-studied, so the claim might hold water. But I'd check who authored it.
Honestly, I just want gummies that don't make me bloated on my long runs. I've tried psyllium and it made me gassy. Anyone else? I think the study might be biased if they're pushing one ingredient over blends.
Another 'miracle fiber' study? Yawn. I've seen too many. My kid's pediatrician said fiber variety is key. I'd rather trust real-world reviews than a funded study. What about the brand? Often those studies are just marketing.
