Is this study on psyllium husk fiber gummies legit?
Just read a study (PMID: 12345678) claiming psyllium husk fiber gummies are as effective as powder for cholesterol reduction. Seems too good to be true—gummies are so convenient but usually have less fiber. Anyone else seen this? Think it's biased by Big Gummy? 😂
Hey Adam! I skimmed the abstract. It's a small trial (n=30) funded by a supplement company, so take it with a grain of salt. The effect size was modest, and they used a specific formulation. I'd wait for independent replication. Still, psyllium is proven, so gummies might be okay if they have enough fiber. Check the serving size!
I actually tried those gummies! They tasted like gritty candy, not gonna lie. But my morning smoothie routine got messed up so I switched back to powder. For convenience, they're okay but I doubt they beat the real thing. Study might be legit but the texture is a dealbreaker for me 😅
Night shift here—I need all the fiber I can get. Tried the gummies, and they gave me bloating. The study says they work but my gut says no. Maybe it's the added sugars? I'll stick to my psyllium husk capsules. YMMV.
Thanks all! Good points, Daphne about funding. Mia and Tom, the texture and bloating are real concerns. I'll pass on the gummies for now. Maybe I'll just buy a better powder and call it a day. 💪
