THREAD: My toddler thinks fiber gummies are candy - hilarious but concerning!Started by MindfulMila730

Hey everyone, need to share this funny/scary moment from yesterday. My 4-year-old found my bottle of fiber gummies and thought they were 'special candy.' He ate like 5 before I caught him! He was so proud of himself saying 'Mommy, I ate the rainbow!' ๐ Thankfully they're just fiber supplements, but now I'm worried he'll do it again. Anyone else have kids (or spouses!) who confuse these with treats? How do you store yours safely?

Oh wow, Mila! Glad he's okay - fiber overload can be rough on little tummies. I don't have kids, but my partner once ate my pre-workout gummies thinking they were 'energy candy' before bed. Let's just say... he didn't sleep much that night! ๐
For storage, I use those childproof containers from the pharmacy, even though my 'kids' are furry (pets!). Maybe try putting them with meds instead of vitamins?

lol classic! My niece did this with melatonin gummies last year. I actually built a smart lock box for my sister after that - syncs to her phone, logs access. Could do something similar for vitamins? Btw, what brand gummies? Some have better texture than others. My wife hates the 'chalky' ones, refuses to take them.

Night shift parent here - feel your pain! My 7-year-old calls them 'squishy vitamins' and sometimes refuses because they're 'too sticky.' I've started giving them with his bedtime snack so he associates them with routine. Storage-wise, high cabinet with a latch. The candy-like look is a double-edged sword, right? Convenient but risky.

Thanks all! @EcoEllen526 good call on the pet-proof containers - ordering some now. @FuelFrank they're the Nature's Way brand, texture is actually pretty good (not chalky). @PurePete 'squishy vitamins' is adorable! Routine tip is helpful. Update: kiddo is fine, but now asks for 'rainbow candy' every day. Sigh. Parenting win/fail!
