Just read this new study (PMID: 34567890) claiming psyllium husk in gummies is just as effective as powder. But the funding is from a gummy company... smells fishy. Any thoughts?

Interesting! I checked the study. Sample size is decent (n=120) and they used a crossover design. But yeah, industry funding is a red flag. I'd want to see replication by an independent group. Also, the gummy dose was 5g psyllium - that's a lot for a gummy, makes me wonder about texture.

As a chef, I can tell you making a gummy with 5g psyllium is tricky - it gets super gummy/gloopy. But if they used a different fiber source? I'd be more suspicious if it claims 'great taste' haha.

Ugh, another study funded by the industry. I stick to whole foods for fiber - chia seeds, flax, oats. Gummies are just candy with a health halo. But if you're gonna do it, at least check for organic, non-GMO psyllium.

Thanks all! Good points. I might give it a try for convenience, but I'll keep my expectations low. @WellnessWendy804, any recs for a good whole food fiber supplement that's not a gummy?
