THREAD: Fiber Gummies - Are They Actually Worth the Hype or Just Candy?Started by SupplementSteve23

Hey everyone! I just tried these new fiber gummies from the health store and I have to say, they're surprisingly delicious! The berry flavor is spot-on, not that artificial taste you get with some supplements. Has anyone else found a brand that doesn't taste like chalk or medicine? I'm always on the lookout for tasty ways to get my daily fiber without having to force down another bowl of oatmeal.

I'm skeptical about these. As a mom, I see all these 'healthy' gummies marketed to kids and adults, but when I check the ingredients, there's often added sugar or artificial colors. Are fiber gummies really better than just eating more fruits and vegetables? My kids would probably love them, but I worry they're just expensive candy with a health claim slapped on. What's the actual fiber source in most of these?

I hear you, PurePete! I was hesitant too, but I found an organic brand that uses chicory root fiber and no artificial anything. They've been great for my family's digestion, especially since my youngest is picky about vegetables. That said, they're definitely a supplement, not a replacement for whole foods. Has anyone compared different natural brands? I'm curious about the prebiotic benefits some claim to have.

From a fitness perspective, fiber is crucial for gut health and maintaining energy levels, but you have to watch the carbs in gummies. Many have 2-4g net carbs per serving, which can add up on keto. I recommend checking the nutrition label carefully. Personally, I prefer psyllium husk capsules - no sugar, more fiber per serving. But if gummies help someone be consistent, that's what matters. Any athletes here using them pre or post-workout?

Good point about the carbs, Kevin! I'm not keto but I do track macros. The brand I use has 3g net carbs for 5g fiber - not terrible. Olivia, which organic brand do you use? I'd love to compare ingredients. Pete, I get the skepticism, but for people like me who struggle to get enough fiber from food alone (busy schedule, not great at meal prep), these are a convenient backup. Anyone notice better digestion or other benefits after consistent use?

Thanks for the honest feedback, everyone. Maybe I'll try a small pack of a clean brand to see if they help with my occasional constipation (TMI, sorry!). But I still think we should focus on teaching kids to love real fiber sources first. Steve, do the gummies actually help you feel full longer? That's one claim I see often. And Kevin, are there any brands you'd recommend for someone wanting minimal additives?
