Hey fellow gummy lovers! I'm about to go on a 3-week trip (planes, trains, and automobiles) and I need to bring my fiber gummies along. I'm worried about them melting in my luggage or in the car. Also, any TSA rules about carrying gummies in my carry-on? And what's the best way to store them to keep them from getting squished? Any tips from frequent travelers?

Oh, I feel you! I always travel with my fiber gummies too. My tip: don't put them in checked luggage—the cargo hold can get really cold and hot. I've had them come out as a solid brick once. Now I always carry them in my personal item, like my backpack. TSA doesn't have a problem with them as long as they're solid, not liquid or gel. But just to be safe, I keep them in their original container with the label. Also, to prevent them from sticking together from heat, I wrap the bottle in a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack if it's a long flight. And for hiking, I've used a small hard case to keep them from getting crushed.

Biohacker here. Honestly, fiber gummies are just sugar and artificial stuff, but if you want to keep them intact, keep them away from extreme temperatures. They start to soften around 80°F (27°C). So on a hot car ride, they'll turn to goo. I'd recommend a small desktop humidor with a Boveda pack to control humidity. Or you can put them in a ziplock and then in a thermos with a cold pack. For melting, you could also put them in the fridge overnight before travel, but that won't last on a hot day. Maybe consider fiber powder instead? But if you're set on gummies, check if they are sugar-free? Sometimes they have a higher melting point.

Crossfitter here, I always need my fiber for those macros. I've traveled with gummies a lot. The trick: get a small, hard-shell case like for sunglasses or a portable hard drive. They sell mini pill organizers that are perfect. Then put that case inside a ziplock with a desiccant pack to keep moisture out. And don't leave them in a hot car—put them in your carry-on under the seat (not in the overhead bin if it's long flight, because it can get warm up there). Also, TSA doesn't care about gummies, but if you have a bunch, they might ask, so keep the original label. Last tip: if they do melt, don't toss them! Put the container in the freezer for an hour and they'll firm up.
