THREAD: My GOLI gummies changed color and got hard - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I've been using GOLI apple cider vinegar gummies for about 6 months now. I opened my latest bottle today and noticed something weird - some of the gummies have turned a darker brown color and feel really hard, almost like little rocks. They're also sticking together in clumps. They don't smell bad or anything, but I'm worried about eating them. Has anyone else experienced this? Are they still safe to take?

Been using GOLI since they first launched! Yeah, I've seen this happen before - especially if you live somewhere humid or if the bottle gets exposed to heat. That hardening is probably sugar bloom (moisture evaporating and leaving sugar crystals on the surface). The color change might be oxidation. Personally, I'd still eat them - they're just less pleasant texture-wise. But if they smell off or have mold (unlikely with the preservatives they use), then toss 'em. Pro tip: store them in a cool, dry place, not in your bathroom!

Ugh, this is why I'm so conflicted about gummy supplements! All that plastic packaging and then they go bad faster than you can use them. Such a waste. If they're just hard and discolored, they're probably safe chemically, but is it worth the risk? I'd contact GOLI directly - they might send you a replacement if it's a batch issue. In the future, consider switching to liquid ACV or tablets to reduce packaging waste and avoid this problem entirely. Mother Earth approves!

OP, I've had this happen with other brands too. The sticking together is usually from humidity getting into the bottle. As for safety - if there's no visible mold and they smell normal (just like vinegar), they're PROBABLY fine, but the texture will be awful. If you're worried, you could try dissolving one in water and drinking it? Or hey, I've been making my own ACV gummies at home - way cheaper and you control the ingredients. Want the recipe? No weird texture issues when you make small batches!
