My GOLI gummies turned weird – still safe to eat?
Hey everyone, I've been taking GOLI gummies for a few months now, but I noticed the last batch I ordered are harder than usual and some have a white powdery coating. They also stick together in the bottle. Has anyone else experienced this? Are they still safe to eat? I don't want to waste them but I'm worried.
Hi there! As a retired nurse, I'd say err on the side of caution. The white coating sounds like sugar bloom, which happens with temp fluctuations. Hard texture could be due to moisture loss. They're probably safe, but if the taste is off or you see mold, toss 'em. You could contact GOLI for a refund.
I've totally been there with my gummies! I'm a digital nomad so they go through all sorts of climates. I've eaten them hard and they're fine, just not as tasty. The white powder is just sugar coming out. If they smell okay, I'd still take them. Maybe store them in a cool place next time!
Yo, Crossfit junkie here. I've had that happen too. I think it's from heat during shipping. I store mine in the fridge now. They get a little hard but still work for my recovery. I wouldn't toss them, but check the expiration date. If it's past, maybe replace.
Science guy here! The white powder is likely sugar crystallizing – harmless. Hard texture might be from moisture loss, but the active ingredients should still be stable. I'd say they're safe unless there's visible mold or a bad smell. You can test one and see if it dissolves okay in water to check for spoilage.
