My kid thinks GOLI gummies are candy and won't stop sneaking them!
Okay so my 5yo just found my stash of GOLI gummies and now he's obsessed. I caught him climbing the counter to grab the bottle 😂 I mean, they do look like candy, right? But I'm worried he'll OD on vitamins! Any tips on hiding them better or explaining to a kid that they're not candy? (He also refuses to eat the tart ones, says they're 'too sour' - funny how he's picky about that but will sneak the strawberry ones!)
Haha I have the same problem! My 3yo calls them 'daddy's gummy bears' and throws a tantrum if I don't give him one. I've started keeping the bottle in a high cabinet in the bathroom, and I always count them before and after. Also, I tell him they're 'special grown-up gummies' and that they'll make him grow big and strong - he seems to accept that for now. But I feel you on the texture thing - my hubby won't touch the ones with the granular coating, says it's weird. Kids are so picky!
My kids are teens now, but I remember this phase. We used to call them 'vitamin treats' and had a 'one a day' rule that they had to ask before taking. We also set a timer on the bottle cap (they have those child-resistant caps for a reason!) but I know that's not foolproof. As for texture, I've noticed some people hate the crunchy outer layer - maybe try the 'naked' ones? I think GOLI has some without the sugar coating. But honestly, the struggle is real 😅
I'm the opposite - my kids WON'T eat the GOLI gummies! They say the texture is 'gritty' and they prefer the softer brands. I've tried to get them to take them because I love the ingredients, but no luck. So now I have a nearly full bottle sitting in my pantry. I should probably sell them or something. But I do worry about kids seeing them as candy - maybe keep them in a medicine lockbox? That's what we do for any supplement that looks tempting.
Thanks everyone! I think I'll try the 'special grown-up gummies' approach and maybe get a lockbox. Also good to know I'm not alone in the texture complaints - I thought I was the only one with a kid who has texture issues haha. And Holly, if you're selling, I might be interested in a backup stash 😂
