Are Kids Gummies just candy in disguise?

I'm really frustrated with the trend of making kids' supplements taste like candy. My 5-year-old loves these gummies, but I feel like I'm just giving him sugar. Is there no way to get him to take vitamins without all the junk? Feels like we're trading health for convenience.

I get your concern, but sugar isn't inherently evil. The amount in one gummy is negligible compared to a soda. Also, better to have a kid getting essential vitamins than refusing supplements altogether. Some brands use natural sweeteners like stevia. Have you checked the label?

I struggled with this too! I started hiding liquid vitamins in smoothies. Maybe try that? But yeah, the candy thing bugs me. One tip: look for gummies with organic cane sugar or no sugar alcohols. They're out there, just gotta dig a bit.

Thanks, Tina, that's helpful! Ken, I know the amount is small, but it's the principle. I want my kid to learn healthy habits, not associate candy with good health. I'll look into the stevia options. Any specific brand recommendations?

I hear ya, but flavor is what makes kids actually take them. My niece loves SmartyPants - they have sugar but also fiber. There's also Olly, they use monk fruit. Maybe start with a half gummy? Baby steps!
