Can I Mix Kids' Gummies with a Multivitamin Gummy?
Hey everyone, I've been giving my kids the recommended dose of their daily gummy vitamins (the 'Kids Gummies' from here) but my wife thinks they need an extra boost, so she bought a separate multivitamin gummy. Is it safe to layer two different gummy vitamins? Any parents tried this?
Oh I remember those days! I used to mix kids' gummies with elderberry syrup for flavor, but never doubled up on vitamins. I'd be careful about overdoing it, especially with fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, K. Better to ask your pediatrician!
Taste-wise, it might be overload of sweetness! My kids would probably just eat them all if I let them. But honestly, if the gummies are just for kids, they already have what they need. Maybe just stick to one type. If you're worried, check the labels for overlapping vitamins.
Actually, there is a real risk of vitamin toxicity. The recommended dietary allowance for kids is specific, and doubling up could push some vitamins over the upper limit. I'd definitely not combine unless a doctor says it's okay. Also, some gummies have iron, which can be dangerous in excess. Better to pick one high-quality gummy and maybe focus on diet.
