Hey fam, heading to the mountains with the little one and thinking of bringing his favorite gummy vitamins. But I'm worried about them melting in my carry-on or checked bag. Also TSA - are gummies considered a liquid or solid? Anyone have experience traveling with these? We're gonna be hiking so maybe they'd get all squishy. Would putting them in a cooler bag work? Help a parent out!

TSA's fine with gummies - they're solid, no 3-1-1 rule. But melting is real! I'm a biohacker and always travel with my supplements (gummies included). Pro tip: keep them in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack if your flight is long. Also, don't leave them in a hot car - I did that once and ended up with a gummy blob. Gross. For hiking, store them in a pocket close to your body, but not if it's blazing hot. Maybe a small cooler with a freezer pack?

Digital nomad here - been all over with gummies. TSA doesn't care, just toss them in your carry-on. Melting is the real enemy. I've got a hack: put them in a small mason jar or a hard plastic container, then wrap in a silicone pouch (like Stasher). Keeps them from getting crushed. If it's hot, I've even asked for ice from the flight attendant and put the jar in a coffee cup with ice. Works like a charm. For hiking, honestly, I'd just eat them all before you go and pack powder or pills instead. Gummies + heat = disaster.

Thanks Paula and Rhino! The mason jar + ice cup trick is genius. I'll try that. Might just ditch the gummies for the hike and give him a regular vitamin on the trail. Better safe than sorry, right? Appreciate the help!
