Found Kids Gummies at Costco for like half price – too good to be true??
Hey all! So I was at Costco yesterday and saw the same kids gummy vitamins I usually buy at my local health food store for about 50% less. It's the big 250-count bottle too. My first thought was 'SCORE!' but then I started second-guessing myself. Could a lower price mean lower quality or maybe they're closer to expiration? I know Costco usually has good stuff, but I don't want to cheap out on my kids' vitamins. Anyone have experience with this? Should I stock up or is it a red flag?
I've seen this too! I think a lot of it is just bulk pricing + Costco's buying power. They move so much volume that they can negotiate lower prices. That said, I always check the expiration date. Sometimes the ones on sale are short-dated. But if you've got a few months, no biggie. Also check the ingredient list against the ones you normally buy – sometimes they make a slight formula change for club stores, but usually it's identical. I'd say it's a steal if the dates are good.
Dude, I bought a giant bottle of kids gummies at Costco last month and my kids are still alive and thriving lol. But seriously, I did a side-by-side with the Target version and the labels were almost exactly the same. Only difference was the Costco one had a slightly different flavor mix (more strawberry, less orange). My 5-year-old didn't care. I'd grab it. If you're worried, just check the batch number or call the manufacturer – they can tell you if it's a special run.
I work nights so I'm often at the 24hr pharmacy and I've noticed they sometimes clearance kids vitamins that are near expiry. That's probably what you're seeing at Costco too – they get a deal on short-dated stock. But Costco usually gives you at least 3-6 months. I'd buy one bottle, try it, and if the kids like it, go back for more. No shame in saving money. Just don't buy 10 bottles if they expire in 2 months. Been there, done that, still finding gummies in the couch.
Thanks everyone! I checked the bottle and it expires in 8 months, so plenty of time. I compared the label to my usual brand and it's literally identical ingredients. I think I'll go back and grab a couple more. Appreciate the reassurance! Also good tip about calling the manufacturer – might do that just to be safe. You guys rock.
