Yikes, that article hit close to home. I've got a 6-year-old who is curious about everything. We've had the 'medicine vs. candy' talk for sure. But weed gummies are a whole other ballgame. I think it's important to be honest but not scare them. Maybe frame it like 'some grown-ups have special gummies that can make them sick if kids eat them'? And always keep them locked up! Any other tips?

Honestly, I think kids are smarter than we give them credit for. My 7-year-old knows about my CBD gummies (for my back pain) and understands they're not for kids. We've also talked about how some things that look like candy are actually 'grown-up medicine.' But I'd never leave them out where he could get them. Safety first, ya know? And yeah, the article is a good reminder to double-check our storage.

This brings back memories of finding my dad's 'special' brownies back in the 80s... let's just say I had a very interesting afternoon. Now as a parent, I'm all about education. My wife and I told our kids early that some treats are for adults only, just like beer or coffee. We use simple language and never joke about it. It's about trust. And yes, we keep everything in a lockbox now. Can't be too careful.

I think the key is to treat it like any other medicine. We have a 'medicine cabinet' in the kitchen with all our supplements and gummies (even my keto gummies) and the rule is 'never touch' unless mom or dad gives it to you. My 7-year-old is pretty good about it, but we also have a lock on that cabinet. The article is a good reminder that kids will be kids, so we gotta be extra safe.
