My kid thinks gummies are candy and won't stop eating them!

Okay so I bought these yummy gummy vitamins for my 6-year-old. I thought they were a great way to get his nutrients in. But now he thinks they're candy and tries to sneak them every chance he gets! I caught him climbing the counter to get the bottle. I had to put them in a high cabinet with a lock. Anyone else have this problem? 😂

Oh man, I feel your pain! My little brother did the same thing. We ended up keeping them in the fridge (he never looks there) and we only take them out at meal time. Maybe try that? Also, might want to get a child-proof cap if you haven't already.

Honestly, I'm a grown adult and I have to stop myself from eating these like candy. The texture is just too good. That's why I switched to the sour kind - the sour taste actually makes me want to eat less? Weird I know. But for kids, maybe talk to them about why vitamins are important, not candy. My wife made a chart with stickers for when they take their gummy without fuss. Works surprisingly well.

I totally get it. We've always been a no-sugar household, so I make my own gummies at home with real fruit puree and a bit of honey. My kids know they're special treats, not candy. Maybe try explaining the difference? Or if you're not into DIY, just keep them out of sight and set a routine.

I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to gummy vitamins anyway - they're basically candy with a few vitamins. Plus, kids can overdose on fat-soluble vitamins if they eat too many. That's scary. Maybe switch to a tablet or a liquid? But if you stick with gummies, definitely get a timed safe or keep them locked up. I've heard horror stories of kids in the ER because they ate a whole bottle.
