Traveling with kids gummies – do they melt? TSA okay?

Headed out on a 10-hour road trip with the family and want to bring our kids’ gummy vitamins. Do these things melt in a hot car? Also, any TSA issues if we fly? I’m a marathon runner so I’m always worried about supplements, but these are for the little ones.

Honestly, why bother with gummies on the go? Aren’t they just sugar pills anyway? I’d just skip them for a few days or switch to a chewable tablet that won’t turn into a sticky mess. But if you must, keep them in a cooler bag.

Gummies are finicky with heat. Above 80°F they can soften and stick together. For road trips, pack them in an insulated lunch box with an ice pack. For flying, TSA is fine with gummies in original or ziplock bags – just declare them if asked. I always bring a small bag in my carry-on and never had issues.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll grab a small cooler bag. Do you think keeping them in the glovebox is a bad idea? That area gets pretty warm in summer.

Yeah, glovebox is a no-go. It’s like an oven in there. Better to keep them in the cabin with A/C or in a cooler. Also, pro tip: if they do melt, pop the container in the fridge for an hour and they’ll firm back up (though they might clump). Safe travels!
