Traveling with Kids Gummies: Melt, TSA, Storage Tips?
Hey all, heading on a road trip with the fam and the kids love their Vibe gummies. Worried they'll melt in the car or get flagged by TSA if we fly. Any tips? They're the berry variety, so kinda soft already. Also, any storage hacks for hiking trips? Thanks!
TSA is fine, just keep them in original packaging or a clear bag. For melting, avoid direct sun and high heat. I've taken gummies on flights to hot places and they survived in my carry-on. If driving, a cooler bag with ice packs works, but don't let them freeze. For hiking, use a small insulated pouch or just keep them in your pack's inside pocket away from the sun.
I take my gummies on hiking trips all the time! I store them in a small glass jar with a tight lid to keep out moisture and critters. For temps, if it's really hot, I bury the jar in the middle of my pack or near a water bottle for some cooling. Also, if they do melt a bit, they still taste fine—just get funky shapes. 😄
Thanks y'all! The glass jar idea is solid, Holly. And good to know TSA hasn't given you trouble, GummyGuru. One more thing—anyone tried freezing them? My wife wants to freeze a batch for the drive so they stay cold. Afraid it'll ruin the texture.
I wouldn't freeze them, keto fam. It messes with the gelatin and makes them hard and weird when thawed. Better to use a small insulated bag with an ice pack, but don't let them touch the ice pack directly or they'll get soggy. Safe travels!
