THREAD: Weird but harmless side effect from kids' gummies? Anyone else?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I've been giving my 6-year-old the 'SuperKids' multivitamin gummies for about a month now. They love them, but I noticed something odd—my kid's been having super vivid, almost movie-like dreams and mentioned their pee looks a bit brighter yellow than usual. No other issues, energy levels are fine, and they're eating well. Has anyone else experienced this with their kids' gummies? Just curious if it's normal or something to check with the pediatrician about. Thanks!

Hey OP! Totally get your concern. As a fitness pro, I see this sometimes with adults too—bright urine is often just excess B vitamins (like B2) flushing out, harmless but can be startling! The vivid dreams might be linked to certain herbal additives if those gummies have stuff like chamomile or melatonin (check the label!). I'd say it's probably fine if your kid seems healthy otherwise, but maybe switch to a simpler formula without extras if it worries you. My niece had similar with a gummy that had added 'calming herbs'—switched brands and it stopped. Hope that helps!

Lol, I'm a busy pro and don't have kids, but I take adult gummies myself—had the bright pee thing too! Doctor said it's normal with B vitamins, nothing to stress about. For the dreams, could it be your kid's just more aware of them now? Maybe the gummies are placebo-ing them into noticing dreams more? If no other symptoms, I'd save the pediatrician visit for something bigger. But yeah, maybe try a different brand if it bugs you. Time is money, so I get wanting quick answers!

Science enthusiast here! OP, this is fascinating. Bright urine is likely riboflavin (B2) excretion—common in fortified gummies and harmless. Vivid dreams could be psychosomatic or due to ingredients like vitamin B6, which aids neurotransmitter production affecting sleep cycles. Check the label for B6 content; high doses might influence dream recall. Anecdotally, my cousin's kid reported colorful dreams on a gummy with zinc and B-complex. If the gummies are within recommended daily values, it's probably safe, but monitor and consider a half-dose to test. Always good to mention at the next check-up though!
