Is it just me or are liquid vitamins basically candy now?

So I bought this 'natural' liquid vitamin drink for my kids, and the label says it's 'fruit flavored' but honestly it tastes like a melted lollipop. I get that they need to make it palatable, but isn't the whole point of supplements to be health-focused? I'm starting to think we're just giving them sugar water with a few vitamins sprinkled in.

I know exactly what you mean! I've been making my own vitamin gummies for a while now, and it's crazy how much sugar is in the store-bought ones. When I make them at home, I can control the sweetness and use natural fruit purees. For liquids, I usually just mix a high-quality vitamin powder into fresh juice. It's not as convenient, but at least I know what's in it.

Honestly, I don't even bother with vitamins unless I'm actually deficient. All these gummies and liquids are just a marketing ploy to make us think we're being healthy while we're basically eating candy. My doctor said most people don't need them if they eat a balanced diet. Save your money and buy some real fruit instead.

You guys have a point. I thought I was doing the right thing, but maybe I should look into making my own or at least finding a brand that doesn't load up on sugar. @QuartzQuinn181, do you have a recipe for a liquid vitamin that doesn't taste like dessert? I'd love to try it.
