Liquid I.V. sponsoring the Peoples League tour – thoughts?
Just saw this article about Liquid I.V. becoming the title sponsor for the 2026 Tour. Seems like a big move for a hydration drink. What does everyone think? Is this just marketing or a sign that electrolyte drinks are becoming mainstream?
I think it's a smart move from a health perspective. Liquid I.V. is actually pretty good for rehydration, especially if you're active. But I worry about the sugar content in some flavors. Still, better than soda or energy drinks. Curious if they'll have sugar-free options at the events.
From a science standpoint, Liquid I.V. uses a specific ratio of glucose and electrolytes that optimizes water absorption via the sodium-glucose cotransport system. It's legit for hydration. But yeah, the sugar can add up. I'd prefer a zero-sugar version. Sponsoring events like this could drive more research into better formulations.
I've tried Liquid I.V. a few times and it does help me feel more hydrated than plain water after yoga, but I'm not a fan of the plastic waste from the packets. Wish they had a bulk powder option. Also, I stick to the ones without artificial sweeteners. Overall, I think it's cool that a functional drink is getting more visibility.
