THREAD: My gummy vitamins look weird - are they still safe to take?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I opened my bottle of gummy vitamins this morning and noticed they've changed color - they're darker than usual and some have white spots on them. A few are also sticking together and feel harder. I've had them for about 3 months, stored in my kitchen cabinet. Are these still safe to eat, or should I toss them? I don't want to waste money but also don't want to get sick!

omg i've totally had this happen with my caffeine gummies! they got all hard and stuck together in a big clump last summer. i think it's just sugar bloom from humidity changes? i still ate them lol but they tasted kinda weird. maybe check the expiration date? i'm not an expert tho, just sharing my experience. also if they smell off that's probably a bad sign.

As a runner, I'm super careful about what goes into my body. Color changes and texture issues can indicate degradation of the vitamins or moisture problems. The white spots are likely sugar crystallization. While they're probably not dangerous, the potency might be reduced. I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer directly - they can give you specific safety info. In the meantime, maybe store your next bottle somewhere cooler and drier?

lol mango's being all responsible while i'm over here like 'if it looks edible, eat it' 😂 but seriously, if they're super hard they might not dissolve properly in your system? idk. i keep my gummies in the fridge now after my last mishap, seems to help. also if they're sticking together you could try separating them and seeing if they go back to normal after a day?

MindfulMila has a point about storage - temperature fluctuations can definitely affect gummies. The kitchen cabinet might get warm from cooking. If they've changed significantly in color AND texture, I'd be cautious. Could you post a photo? Sometimes visual comparison helps. And definitely check if there's any mold growth - that would be an immediate toss situation.
