Started liquid melatonin for sleep, but my skin is GLOWING?! Anyone else?
So I picked up this liquid melatonin gummy thing from the bargain bin to help with my terrible sleep schedule (college life amirite). But a week in, I woke up and my roommate was like "dude your skin looks amazing." I didn't change anything else. Has this happened to anyone? I'm not complaining, just confused.
Oh man, that takes me back! When I first tried liquid zinc years ago for immunity, my nails got so strong I could open a soda can. But yeah, liquids absorb faster so maybe it's hitting different? [winky face] Could be the melatonin itself - some studies say it's an antioxidant. Or maybe you're just sleeping better? Either way, enjoy the glow!
Interesting observation. I recall research indicating that melatonin has photoprotective properties and can reduce UV damage. But more likely, improved sleep quality reduces cortisol, which can cause inflammation and breakouts. Also, check if your liquid contains vitamin E or cofactors often added for stability. Anyway, keep an eye on dosage - liquids can be potent.
Just be careful with the sugar content in those liquids. Many brands load up on corn syrup to make it palatable. I've switched to a stevia-sweetened one and it's been great. But hey, if it's giving you skin benefits and low sugar, ride that wave. Just don't rely on it for everything.
Thanks y'all! @NootropicNoah599 I checked the label - no extra vitamins, just melatonin in a glycerin base. So maybe it IS the sleep thing? @RhinoRich969 It's actually sugar-free! Grape flavor, pretty decent. @JoyfulJack529 lol I'll take weird perks. Now if only it could pay my tuition...
