THREAD: Weird side effect from liquid vitamins? Anyone else?Started by FitnessFanatic

Hey all, been taking this new liquid multivitamin for about 2 weeks now (the one with B-complex and D3). Everything's fine energy-wise, but I've been having these crazy vivid dreams every night. Like, full-on movie plots. Not scary, just... intense. Is this a thing? My schedule's packed, so I don't have time to journal them lol. Anyone else experience something like this?

OMG yes!! I switched to liquid B12 last month for my pre-workout boost and my dreams got WILD. I dreamed I was doing deadlifts with a kangaroo last week ๐. My trainer said it's probably the B vitamins - they can affect your nervous system or something. Also, my pee is neon yellow now, but that's normal with B vitamins. As long as you're not feeling anxious or anything, I'd say ride it out! The energy boost is worth it ๐ช

Interesting observation! Vivid dreams are a documented but uncommon side effect of high-dose B vitamins, particularly B6 (pyridoxine) and B12. These vitamins play roles in neurotransmitter synthesis and REM sleep regulation. The liquid form may enhance bioavailability compared to pills. I'd check your product's B6 content - doses above 100mg daily can sometimes cause this. Harmless if under 200mg, but worth monitoring. Any other symptoms like tingling sensations?

Thanks both! @OrganicOlivia44 - kangaroo deadlifts sound epic haha. @NatureNancy - just checked the label, it has 50mg B6 and 500mcg B12 per serving. No tingling or anything else weird. Good to know it's documented though. Maybe I'll take it earlier in the day instead of with dinner? Would that help?

50mg B6 is within safe limits but could definitely explain it. Taking it earlier might help - some people report reduced sleep disturbances when taking B vitamins in the morning. The half-life is relatively short. Try shifting to breakfast for a week and see if dream intensity decreases. Keep us updated - citizen science is valuable!
