THREAD: Looking for magnesium gummy recommendations - gift for aging parent or fitness friend?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm trying to find some good magnesium gummies to give as gifts - one for my dad who's in his 70s and starting to have some joint stiffness, and another for my friend who's super into weightlifting and marathon training. I've seen so many brands online but don't know where to start. Looking for something that actually works, tastes decent, and isn't full of junk. Any recommendations or experiences to share? Thanks!

As a marathon runner, I SWEAR by magnesium gummies for recovery! I've tried like 5 different brands. For your fitness friend, definitely go with something that has magnesium glycinate - it's easier on the stomach and helps with muscle cramps. I use 'Endurance Boost' gummies during heavy training cycles. They taste like orange and don't have that chalky aftertaste some supplements have. For your dad, maybe look for ones with added vitamin D? Helps with bone health too!

Weekend warrior here! I take magnesium gummies after my Saturday mountain bike sessions. I'm not as hardcore as Cathy lol but I've found the 'Nature's Way' ones work well for me. They're affordable and you can get them at most stores. For an aging parent, I'd check the sugar content - some gummies are basically candy with vitamins. My dad takes the sugar-free version of what I use and says it helps him sleep better too!

Skeptical mom checking in! I was totally side-eyeing gummy vitamins until my teen needed magnesium for growing pains. Do your research - some brands have artificial colors and way too much sugar. I ended up choosing 'Clean Kids' brand because they use natural flavors and colors. For an older person, check if they're on any medications first! Magnesium can interact with some prescriptions. Also, the serving size matters - some gummies require taking 4-6 per day which gets expensive.

Minimalist perspective: fewer ingredients = better. Most magnesium gummies have unnecessary additives. Look for brands with just magnesium, maybe a natural sweetener like monk fruit, and that's it. I make my own sometimes - it's actually pretty simple with gelatin and magnesium powder. But if buying, 'Pure Essentials' has a clean formula. For gifts, consider whether the person actually wants supplements - sometimes a thoughtful note or time together means more than another bottle of pills (even if they're gummy!).
