So I started taking these magnesium gummies (glycinate, vegan btw) about 3 weeks ago because I was waking up at 3am every night. Sleep is better, sure, but the weirdest thing is my skin! I've had hormonal acne on my jaw for years and it's almost gone. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it the magnesium or am I just finally drinking enough water? LOL.

Well I'll be darned. My granddaughter got me on those gummies for my leg cramps. Didn't do much for the cramps but my nails are stronger than they've been in years. At my age you take the wins where you can get 'em. Maybe there's something to it?

Magnesium is involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions, so it's not crazy. I heard on a podcast that it can help with cortisol regulation, which could indirectly affect acne and stress. I take mine post-workout for recovery but haven't noticed skin changes. How much are you taking, OP? And what form? Glycinate is good for sleep but citrate might be better for other stuff.

I work nights so my sleep is all over the place. Started magnesium for the same reason – to knock out. But after a month, my anxiety levels dropped big time. I'm way less on edge during my shifts. Didn't expect that at all. Maybe it's the calming effect? Either way, I'll keep taking 'em. Just wish they weren't so dang expensive.

Thanks for the replies! I'm taking 200mg of glycinate before bed. And yeah, the stress thing makes sense – I have been less frazzled lately. PurePete, have you tried buying in bulk online? I get a big bottle from iHerb for like $15. Also EarthElias574, that's awesome about your nails! Maybe I should tell my mom.
