Study says Magnesium Gummies don't absorb? Thoughts?

So I just read this study (PMID: 12345678) claiming that magnesium gummies have super low bioavailability compared to pills or powder. I've been making my own gummies with magnesium citrate and was wondering if anyone else thinks this is legit or just big pharma trying to scare us away from gummies? Seems fishy to me.

Girl, I've been saying this for years! Gummies are full of sugar and gelling agents that can mess with absorption. My naturopath always said to stick with capsules or liquid. Not to say they're useless, but for magnesium, maybe not the best form. But hey, if you like them, do you!

I'm a bit skeptical too. I take magnesium gummies post-workout and they seem to help with cramps. But I've seen studies with conflicting results. I think it depends on the type of magnesium and what else is in the gummy. For me, convenience wins, but I might switch to powder if it's really that bad.

I've experimented with making my own gummies using agar instead of gelatin and adding a bit of vitamin C to help absorption. But honestly, I think the study might be legit. There's a reason why most supplements are in pill form. The gummy matrix can trap the minerals. I'd say take with food and maybe split the dose. Just my two cents.
