Are melatonin gummies basically candy?

I just got some melatonin gummies for the first time, and honestly? They taste like sour gummy worms. It's kind of scary how easy it is to eat a handful. Why do they need to be so sugary? I feel like it defeats the purpose of a health supplement.

I get where you're coming from, but for me, the taste is what gets me to take them consistently. I used to just skip the pills because they were gross or hard to swallow. Maybe if the sugar content is lower it's fine? What brand did you get?

Honestly, I think the candy-fication is a problem. It normalizes eating handfuls of 'healthy' gummies and kids might think they're just candy. But the convenience for people who can't swallow pills is legit. Just read labels and don't overdo it.

I got Nature's Bounty. It says 2g sugar per gummy. That's like half a teaspoon. It adds up if you take more than one. I'm thinking of switching to a sugar-free brand or just using drops.

2g isn't that bad honestly. Drops can be annoying to measure. I'd rather just watch my sugar elsewhere. But I feel you on the temptation lol. I've caught myself wanting to eat more for the taste.
