So I tried making my own melatonin gummies at home using gelatin and melatonin powder. Followed a recipe online but they came out super sticky and gooey. Not gummy at all! Used 2 tbsp gelatin per cup of juice. Any tips?

Yeah, you probably need more gelatin. I make my own protein gummies and use about 3 tbsp per cup. Also make sure you bloom the gelatin in cold water first, then heat gently. Mine come out firm.

sticky means too much water or not enough setting time. Gelatin needs to set for at least 2-3 hours in the fridge. Also, try using agar instead - it's more stable at room temp. But note that agar sets firmer and might be harder to get the dose right.

I've been making my own for months! Use 3 tbsp gelatin, 1/2 cup cold water to bloom, then add 1/2 cup hot juice. Also add a little lecithin to help mix the melatonin powder. Works perfect!

Thanks all! I'll try the 3 tbsp and lecithin tip. I only let them set for an hour, so maybe that's it. Fingers crossed for round 2.
