Melatonin gummies are just candy with a sleep aid, change my mind

Is it just me or are melatonin gummies getting out of hand? I picked up a bottle at the store today and looked at the label – 5g of sugar per gummy! And you're supposed to take 2-3. That's basically a handful of Skittles before bed. Whatever happened to good old tablets? I swear, people are so addicted to everything tasting like candy that we've turned supplements into dessert. No wonder kids are begging for their 'vitamins'.

Bro, I feel you. I switched to sublingual tablets years ago. Gummies are for people who can't handle the taste of actual nutrients. Plus, most gummies have gelatin or pectin and other junk. If you're serious about sleep, you shouldn't be chugging sugar before bed anyway – it spikes your insulin and messes with your deep sleep. Get some pure melatonin powder and cap it yourself. That's what I do. #paleo

Actually, the sugar content isn't that big of a deal for most people if it's just 2-3g. The bigger issue is dosing accuracy – gummies can vary a lot in melatonin content. But yeah, if you're taking 3 gummies with 5g sugar each, that's 15g of sugar right before bed. Not ideal. I usually recommend tablets for my patients unless they have trouble swallowing pills. That said, for kids or elderly, gummies can be a game changer for compliance. It's a trade-off.

Lol I'm reading this while eating a melatonin gummy. I travel constantly and gummies are just easier – no water needed, no pill bottle rattling. But I do agree the sugar is unnecessary. There are sugar-free options with stevia or monk fruit. I found some on Amazon that are 1g sugar per gummy. You just have to look. Convenience wins for me, but I'm not gonna pretend it's health food.

PurePete699 – exactly! And FitnessFanatic898, I get the compliance thing, but why not just make a sugar-free gummy? They exist. It feels like companies are just catering to our sweet tooth and we're all paying the price. KetoKevin842, at least you're aware. But for me, it's tablets all the way. I'll take a slightly bitter pill over a sugar bomb any night.
