Melatonin Gummies: Healthy Sleep Aid or Just Candy in Disguise?

Just saw these melatonin gummies at the store and checked the label - 8g of sugar per serving! Why are we turning supplements into candy? I take a tiny melatonin pill with water, zero sugar, works fine. This 'gummy-fication' is just marketing to make us consume more sugar. Keep it simple, people!

I hear you Tom, but as a grandparent trying to get my grandkids to take their vitamins, gummies are a lifesaver! My 8-year-old grandson actually asks for his melatonin gummy at bedtime now. Without the sweet taste, he'd fight me every night. Sometimes convenience matters more than purity, especially with kids.

Both valid points! As someone deep in the wellness space, I've found sugar-free melatonin gummies sweetened with stevia or monk fruit. They exist! The real issue is companies using cheap fillers and calling it 'healthy.' Always check labels - if it has corn syrup or artificial colors, hard pass. Quality matters more than form.

lol as someone who lives on caffeine during the day, I NEED my melatonin gummy at night. Yeah there's some sugar, but it's like 30 calories - less than a bite of chocolate. And honestly, the ritual of chewing something sweet helps my brain switch to sleep mode. Pills just feel like medicine, gummies feel like a treat. Different strokes!

Rose, that's exactly the problem! We're training ourselves to need 'treats' for basic bodily functions. Next they'll make fiber gummies and probiotic gummies... oh wait, they already do. It's a slippery slope to needing sugar with everything. Just take the pill and be done with it!
