Melatonin gummies on sale at Costco – too good to be true?

So I was at Costco today and saw a huge tub of melatonin gummies (like 240 count) for only $9.99. That's a steal compared to the pharmacy price I usually pay. But I'm wondering, does the lower price mean they're using cheaper ingredients or lower quality? Anyone tried these before?

Hey SleepySam! I get where you're coming from. But remember, big box stores like Costco buy in bulk and cut out middlemen, so prices can be lower for the same quality. That said, always check the label for additives. Some cheaper gummies are loaded with sugar or artificial stuff. I'd look for ones with clean ingredients – maybe even melatonin from a natural source. If it's a reputable brand, it's probably fine.

I've bought that Costco brand before! It's actually the same as the ones sold at my local pharmacy, just bigger bottle. Trust me, I'm a busy professional and I rely on melatonin to sleep after long shifts. The price drop is just a membership perk. I've noticed no difference in effect. Just check the mg per gummy – sometimes the sale ones have lower dose, but even then you can adjust. I'd say go for it!

As a retired nurse, I've seen a lot of supplement hype. Price isn't always an indicator of quality. What matters is the brand's reputation and third-party testing. Costco has a great return policy, so if you try them and they don't work, you can return them. Also, I'd be wary of anything with high fructose corn syrup or artificial dyes. Look for pectin-based or natural flavors. But if it's a trusted brand like Natrol or Olly, you're good. I've seen those at Costco.

Honestly, I don't trust any melatonin gummies. Just eat a banana or drink some tart cherry juice – that's natural melatonin. But if you're going to buy them, don't think cheaper means bad. The markup on supplements is insane, so a sale might just mean they're not ripping you off as much. But check the ingredients – if it's the same as the expensive brand, it's a no-brainer. Just my two cents.
