Hey everyone! I've been taking melatonin gummies to help me fall asleep, but I also love my morning coffee. Is it safe to take melatonin gummies and then have coffee a few hours later? I've heard it might mess with your sleep cycle or something. Any advice?

I'm not a doctor, but I've been in the same boat. I usually take my melatonin at night, and then have coffee in the morning. Seems fine to me. But I've read that taking melatonin too close to caffeine can make it less effective. So maybe just space them out by at least 8 hours? That's what I do.

Good question! Melatonin has a half-life of about 1-2 hours, so it's mostly out of your system by morning. But caffeine can stay in your system for 6+ hours. Taking them together could counteract each other. If you're taking melatonin for sleep, it's best to take it at night and avoid caffeine in the evening. Morning coffee is probably fine. Just don't take them at the same time!

I'm a student and I survive on coffee and melatonin lol. I take melatonin at 10pm and coffee at 8am, no issues. But I also take them with food sometimes. Just don't take them together. Also, maybe try a lower dose of melatonin if you're worried.

Thanks everyone! That's reassuring. I'll stick to taking melatonin at night and coffee in the morning. Appreciate the help!
