My kid thinks melatonin gummies are candy!
So my 7-year-old found my bottle of melatonin gummies and thought they were fruit snacks. He ate like 5 before I caught him. I freaked out but he's fine, just extra sleepy. Anyone else deal with this? How do you keep them out of reach?
Oh man, that's a classic! I have to hide mine from my husband, he treats them like candy too. I keep them in a high cabinet in a jar that's not see-through. And I only take out the dose for the night. Maybe try a lockbox if your kid is determined!
lol my little sister did that once. We now have a rule that gummy vitamins are 'special treats' that only adults can give, and we keep them in the fridge. She learned after she got a tummy ache. But yeah, definitely keep them out of reach, maybe in a locked drawer.
I feel you! My dog once got into my gummies and I had to call the vet. Not fun. I now store them in a glass jar with a childproof lid and put it on the top shelf. Also, I make my own gummies sometimes with honey and herbs - that way I know exactly what's in them and can hide the jar in plain sight. But for melatonin, I'd recommend a safe.
Thanks for the tips everyone! I guess I need to be more careful. The lockbox idea sounds good, but I'll probably just hide them behind the spices. I'm just glad he didn't get super sick. Now he knows they're not for snacking! haha
