THREAD: Traveling with Melatonin Gummies - Do They Melt? TSA Rules?Started by SolarSam260

Hey everyone! Digital nomad here - I'm constantly hopping between time zones and rely on melatonin gummies to reset my sleep schedule. Next week I'm flying to Bali (with a layover in Dubai), then doing a road trip across Java. Has anyone traveled with these? Do they melt in heat? What about TSA rules - are they cool with gummy supplements in carry-ons? Also, any storage tips for keeping them fresh during hiking days? Thanks!

SolarSam260 - Great question! As someone who's picky about texture (melted gummies = sad Tom), I've learned the hard way. On a road trip through Arizona last summer, I left my bottle in the glove compartment. Came back to gummy mush that tasted like warm fruit leather - not pleasant! TSA-wise, I've never had issues carrying them domestically (US), but international might vary. Pro tip: Keep them in your personal item, not checked luggage, and maybe use a small insulated lunch bag if you're going somewhere hot. What brand do you use? Some hold up better than others.

Tech solution incoming! I travel with a mini digital thermometer/humidity sensor (links to my phone via Bluetooth) in my supplement bag. Sounds extra, but it helps! Most melatonin gummies start getting soft around 85°F/29°C. For hiking, I use a vacuum-insulated water bottle sleeve - keeps them cool for hours. TSA: They treat them like regular vitamins. I've flown with gummies to 12 countries, zero problems as long as they're in original packaging. SolarSam260 - Want me to link the thermometer I use? It's only $25 and has altitude readings too!

New to meditation AND melatonin here (trying to calm my travel anxiety!). This is so helpful! I'm taking a red-eye to Iceland next month for a silent retreat. Quick question: If they do get a little melty, do they still work the same? Also, FloraFinn847 - that tech sounds amazing but maybe overkill for me lol. Simple storage hack I read: Put silica gel packets in the bottle to absorb moisture during humidity changes. Can anyone confirm if that works?

Awesome replies everyone! TendonTom598 - I use Nature's Truth berry flavor (the sugar-coated ones). FloraFinn847 - Yes please DM me that thermometer link! That's genius for monitoring luggage temps. LunarLily - From my experience, slightly soft gummies still work fine sleep-wise, just texture issues. Silica packets definitely help with humidity! Update: Just checked TSA website - they specifically say vitamins/supplements are allowed in any quantity (powder rules differ). International airports might check them though. Thanks team - this community rocks!
