Traveling with Melatonin Gummies?
Hey everyone! I'm going on a cross-country road trip next week and I always take melatonin gummies to sleep in hotels. I'm worried they might melt in the car or get confiscated at a border checkpoint. Anyone have experience? Also, TSA rules for gummies in carry-on?
I've flown with gummies plenty of times. As long as they're in original packaging or clearly labeled, TSA is fine. I usually put them in a ziplock bag to avoid crushing. For heat, they can soften, but not completely melt unless it's really hot. I'd keep them in a cooler or insulated bag if you're worried. Safe travels!
To add to YogaYara - melatonin isn't a controlled substance, so no issues with TSA. Just make sure they're not mixed with anything else. If you're traveling by car in summer, the glovebox can get hot enough to melt them. I'd put them in a small lunchbox with an ice pack. Also, check if they're vegan? Some have gelatin - not that it matters for melting, but just saying.
I've taken gummies on international flights. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked, because checked bags can freeze and get damaged. Also, if you're hiking, a little tin can work, but they might get sticky. I once had them melt in my pocket - not fun. Maybe try a solid form for hiking?
