Are multivitamin gummies just candy in disguise? Sugar content rant!

Okay, I need to vent. I've been giving my kids these 'multivitamin gummies' because they refuse to swallow pills, but I just checked the label and they have 5g of sugar PER GUMMY! That's basically candy with a vitamin sticker. I'm a sleep-deprived parent trying to do right by my kids, but this feels like I'm being tricked. Are we just candy-fying supplements now for convenience? What happened to pure nutrition?

Totally get your concern, VibeVitamins42! As a nature photographer, I'm all about purity. I tried gummies once but switched back to capsules after reading the ingredients. The sugar and artificial colors are a no-go for me. If you want convenience without the junk, maybe look into powdered vitamins you can mix into smoothies? Just a thought from someone who prefers things au naturel!

ugh, as a caffeine addict trying to be healthier, I feel this. I bought gummies thinking they'd be an easy win, but the sugar crash is real. Plus, they're so tasty I end up eating more than the dose... not great. But tbh, if it's between gummies and no vitamins at all, I'd probably still choose gummies? Convenience wins when you're running on espresso and willpower. Anyone else struggle with this?

Medical student here - this is a legit debate in nutrition circles! Sugar in gummies can help with palatability and compliance, especially for kids or pill-averse adults. But you're right to check labels: some use minimal added sugars or sugar alcohols. Look for options with <2g sugar or ones sweetened with stevia. Also, gummies might have lower nutrient doses due to formulation limits. Convenience vs. purity isn't black-and-white—it's about informed choices based on individual needs!
