Are multivitamin gummies just glorified candy? Sugar content concerns

Hey everyone, just tried some multivitamin gummies for the first time and I'm kinda shocked. They taste exactly like candy! I checked the label and there's like 3g of sugar per serving. Isn't that defeating the purpose? I'm trying to be healthier with my weekend hikes and workouts, but this feels like I'm just eating sweets with vitamins sprinkled in. What's the point?

Oliver, I hear you! As a fitness pro, I see this all the time. The convenience is great for people who hate swallowing pills, but you're right about the sugar. Many brands use corn syrup or added sugars to make them palatable. If you're serious about purity, look for sugar-free options or stick to traditional capsules. The 'candy-fication' of supplements can lead to overconsumption too—people treat them like snacks!

Data point: most gummies have minimal bioactive compounds due to heat processing. Sugar is just one issue. I've biohacked my own stack—liquids and powders mixed into smoothies. Higher bioavailability, no fillers. Gummies are for the masses who prioritize taste over efficacy. If you're a weekend warrior, Oliver, you might not need them at all. Get nutrients from whole foods first.

Thanks Wendy and Hacker497! Wendy, any brands you recommend that are lower sugar? I do like the convenience since I'm on the go a lot. Hacker497, I get the whole foods thing, but sometimes I'm rushing out for a hike and just grab something quick. Maybe I'll try mixing powders like you said, but sounds messy lol.

Oliver, check out brands like SmartyPants or Olly—they have some options with less added sugar and use natural sweeteners. Still, read labels carefully! And Hacker497 makes a good point: if you're active, you might not need a multivitamin if your diet is solid. Maybe just supplement specific things like Vitamin D or electrolytes. Keep it simple!
