DIY Multivitamin Gummies - My batch turned into a sticky mess! Help?
Hey everyone, I tried making my own multivitamin gummies at home to save money and control ingredients. Used gelatin, some vitamin C and B-complex powders I had, plus a little honey for sweetness. But they came out super sticky and wouldn't set properly - just a gooey blob! Anyone have a foolproof recipe or tips on ratios? I'm wondering if I added too much liquid or not enough gelatin. Thanks!
Blessings, dear! As a holistic healer, I love your initiative but gelatin can be tricky. The energy of your ingredients matters - were they organic? I find adding a pinch of turmeric or ashwagandha powder helps binding. Also, try using less honey and more gelatin (about 1 tbsp per cup of liquid). Let it cool slowly with positive intentions! Have you considered moon phase timing for your next batch?
Ugh, gelatin is so cruel! Why support animal exploitation when agar agar works perfectly? I've been making vegan gummies for years. Use 2 tsp agar powder per cup of liquid, boil for 5 mins, then add your vitamins OFF the heat (heat destroys nutrients!). My fave is mixing with elderberry syrup - so much better for the planet and the animals. #GoVegan
OP - sounds like you didn't bloom the gelatin properly! That's Paleo 101. Always soak gelatin in cold water first for 5 mins before heating. I make mine with grass-fed gelatin, bone broth powder for extra collagen, and wild blueberries. Perfect every time. Skip the processed vitamin powders - get nutrients from real foods like liver capsules instead. Our ancestors didn't need synthetic vitamins!
