Flying with gummy vitamins – do they melt?
Hey all, heading on a week-long hiking trip and want to bring my multivitamin gummies. Worried they'll melt in my bag or get confiscated at TSA. Any tips? I keep it minimal so don't want to bring the whole bottle.
I travel with gummies all the time! TSA doesn't care as long as they're in reasonable quantities – I just toss a couple handfuls in a ziplock. They can get a little soft in hot weather but haven't melted fully on me yet. If you're worried, put them in an insulated pouch or keep them in your carry-on near the AC. Happy trails!
Keep it simple. I put a week's worth in a small pill organizer. No issues with TSA or melting. Gummies can get sticky if it's really hot, but they won't turn into puddles unless you leave them in direct sun for hours. Just don't store them in a hot car.
Oh the melt fear is real! I once left a bag in my glove compartment during a road trip – they turned into one giant gummy blob. Still edible though lol. For hiking, I'd recommend a small hard container like an old mint tin. Keeps them from squishing and isn't bulky. TSA didn't bat an eye when I had a couple dozen in my carry-on.
Great advice, all! Think I'll go with the mint tin idea – lightweight and crushproof. Thanks!
