I swear I’ve told my 5-year-old a hundred times that the multivitamin gummies are NOT candy. But this morning I caught him trying to stash the bottle in his backpack for ‘snack time.’ I’m just glad he hasn’t OD'd on vitamin C yet… any tips on how to keep them away from little hands? Or do I just give up and let him think they’re candy? 😅

Lol I have the opposite problem – my wife REFUSES to eat them bc she says they’re ‘too chewy’ like old fruit snacks. I’m like, just take the damn vitamin woman! But yea, for the kid, maybe hide the bottle high up? They make childproof caps for a reason. Also, remind him only one a day or his tummy will get upset. That might scare him off.

I’m w Kevin on the texture thing. My daughter (8) won't touch them anymore after she bit into a gummy that was kinda hard. She says they ‘taste like fake fruit’. I’ve switched to chewable tablets but she still gags. For your situation tho, maybe try a gummy brand that looks less like candy? Some are shaped like little bears but others are more boring. Also, you can always keep the bottle in a locked cabinet.

Night shift problems: I came home at 7am and found my husband sleep-eating a handful of the kids’ gummies. He was half asleep and thought it was a normal snack. Honestly I’m more worried about his iron levels now than the kids'. But yeah, label them with a big 'vitamins' sticker and maybe don’t keep them next to the actual snacks.
