Is it just me or are multivitamin gummies just candy in disguise??

So I finally caved and bought a popular multivitamin gummy brand because I hate swallowing pills. But then I looked at the label and it's like 3g of sugar per gummy and you need to take TWO. That's 6g of sugar just for a vitamin! No wonder they taste like candy. I might as well eat a handful of gummy bears and call it a day. Am I overreacting? I feel like these companies are just preying on people who want convenience. End rant lol.

Nah you're not overreacting. This is exactly why I ditched gummies. Most of them use glucose syrup, sucrose, or tapioca syrup. Total carb bomb. I switched to capsules or liquid drops. Yeah it's less fun but at least I'm not spiking my insulin for a vitamin. Plus, a lot of those gummies don't even have the full spectrum of vitamins. Check the label – often they lack calcium, magnesium, etc. Just my 2 cents.

I get the frustration but let's be real: for some people, a gummy is the only way they'll actually take a vitamin. My grandma refuses pills, but she'll happily chew a gummy. Is it ideal? No. But it's better than a deficiency. That said, I do CrossFit and I'm pretty mindful of sugar. I just factor it into my macros. If I'm taking a gummy, I'll skip dessert or something. Moderation, people.

FloraFinn938 that's fair. I didn't think about it that way. I guess for some it's a gateway. But still, why does it need to taste like a Starburst? Couldn't they make it less sweet? And Kevin, what liquid drops do you use? I'm curious but also scared it'll taste like fish oil lol.

CrystalCathy413 I use a liquid multivitamin from a brand called PureEssence. It's berry flavored and actually not bad. No sugar, sweetened with stevia. But yeah, do your research. Some liquids have weird aftertaste. Also, if you're worried about sugar, look for gummies sweetened with allulose or monk fruit. They exist but they're pricier. Convenience vs. purity is a real trade-off. I just decided my health goals outweigh the candy convenience.
