Is this study on sugar alcohols in gummies legit or biased?

Just saw a study (PMID: 34567890) claiming that sugar alcohols in gummy vitamins can cause gut issues even in small doses. Seems like it's funded by some pharma company pushing pills instead. Thoughts? Is this legit or just fear-mongering?

I wouldn't trust any study funded by Big Pharma. They've been trying to discredit gummies for years. That said, sugar alcohols do cause bloating for me personally, so maybe there's some truth. But the dose in most gummies is tiny.

I don't care about the science as long as they taste good! But if sugar alcohols upset my stomach, I'm out. Anyone know which brands use stevia or monk fruit instead?

I've read that study too. The sample size was small and they used a high dose. I think it's biased. I've been taking gummies with xylitol for years with no issues. But I'm also a digital nomad so my diet is all over the place lol.

Good to know, Frank. I'll stick with my current gummies but maybe switch to a brand with no sugar alcohols if I start feeling off. Thanks all!
