Multivitamin Gummies + Travel: Melt? TSA? Storage Hacks?

Hey all! I'm about to head on a 3-week trip—flying to Denver, then road tripping through national parks, and doing some day hikes. I take a daily multivitamin gummy (the SmartyPants kind, if that matters). Do these things melt in a hot car or in my suitcase? Also, any issues with TSA? And how do you store them on the go? I'm a digital nomad so I'm always moving. Any tips appreciated!

I've been taking gummies for years and travel a lot for work. In my experience, they can definitely melt if left in a hot car. I usually keep them in my carry-on because checked bags can get hot. TSA has never given me trouble—they're just candy-like, so no liquid rules. But I always put them in a clear ziplock just in case. Also, if it's really hot, I've had them stick together. Not the end of the world, but annoying.

Dude, I did a road trip last summer and left my gummies in the glovebox. Big mistake. They turned into a giant blob. I had to cut them apart with a knife. Now I use a small insulated lunch bag with a cold pack if I'm hiking. Works great. For TSA, I just throw the bottle in my backpack and never had a problem. But yeah, heat is the enemy.

As a digital nomad who's been to 30+ countries, I've learned a few tricks. First, TSA doesn't care about gummies—they're solid. But international customs might if they look like edibles (lol). Second, if you're in a hot climate, consider switching to a multivitamin that's not gummy, like capsules, for travel. But if you must, get a small hard-sided container and keep it in your daypack, not checked luggage. Also, some gummies have gelatin, so they can melt at lower temps. I've had luck with brands that use pectin instead. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks everyone! Super helpful. I'll definitely keep them in my carry-on and maybe get a small insulated pouch. And good call on the pectin-based ones—I'll look into that. Happy travels!
