Traveling with gummy vitamins - melt risk?
Headed to the beach next week, flying. I always pack my gummy vitamins in my carry-on, but I'm worried they might melt in the heat or in the plane. Is that a thing? Any tips?
I travel a lot for fitness expos. I've had gummies get a bit soft in hot weather, but in the plane it's usually cool. I keep mine in a small insulated pouch with an ice pack if I'm going somewhere hot. Also, if you're carrying them in your carry-on, they're fine - TSA doesn't care about vitamins, they're solid. Just don't bring liquid ones. But for gummies, I'd say put them in a zip lock, maybe they'll get squished but not melt completely. Safe travels!
Honestly, I've flown with gummies and they were fine. I think they have a higher melting point? But to be safe, I put them in a small container with a desiccant packet. Also, they might get a little sticky if it's super hot, but they won't turn into soup. Just don't leave them in a hot car. Enjoy your trip!
I've seen people complain about gummies melting in shipping, so I avoid it. But if you're carrying them, maybe put them in your personal item and not the checked luggage - checked baggage can get warm. Also, I've heard that some gummies have a lower melting point, so maybe look up the specific brand. And TSA is fine with them, they're not a liquid. Have fun!
