Are these gummies or just candy?
I just got my first bottle of NAC gummies and I'm kinda shocked at the sugar content – 4g per gummy?! That's basically candy. I thought we were taking supplements for health, not adding more sugar to our diet. I get that they need to taste good, but this feels like a step backwards.
Totally agree. As a med student, I see the irony – people taking NAC for liver support or respiratory health while ingesting sugar that can spike insulin and promote inflammation. There are unflavored versions or capsules, but the gummy trend is all about marketing. It's like the supplement industry is becoming a candy aisle.
I'm pretty new to supplements and I actually like the gummies because I can't swallow pills. But the sugar thing bothers me too. Are there any low-sugar or sugar-free options? I don't want to compromise my meditation goals with a sugar rush.
I work night shifts and rely on gummies for convenience, but I've switched to brands that use xylitol or stevia. They exist! But yeah, the 'candyfication' is real. I think some people just need the sweet taste to remember to take them, but for others it's a downside. Each to their own, I guess.
