Are we turning supplements into candy?
Just got my NAC gummies and they taste like a bag of skittles. I mean, I get it, but I feel like I'm eating candy instead of taking a supplement. Am I overthinking this? I'm super busy and can't deal with chalky pills, but this feels too far.
Dude, I hear you. I'm a health nut and I hate how they add all that sugar and artificial stuff. My kids want the gummies but I read the label and it's like 4g of added sugar per gummy. That's basically candy! I'd rather give them a pill crushed in applesauce. But hey, to each their own, right?
I work 60+ hours a week, so gummies are a lifesaver for me. I don't have time to measure out powders or choke down horse pills. Sure, they're sweet, but it's not like I'm eating a bag of Haribo. Plus, many brands now use sugar alcohols or natural sweeteners. Have you checked the labels? Some have only 1g of sugar.
Good point, KaleKen. I didn't think about that. I just grabbed the first one I saw. I'll look for the lower sugar ones. Maybe I can have my gummy and eat it too lol.
Ha, exactly. I've found a few with no added sugar, they're just harder to find. It's a shame they don't all do that. But I guess they have to cater to the kids and the 'candy craving' adults. Whatever, just read labels, people!
