So I tried making NAC gummies using agar agar and powder from capsules. Followed a recipe online but they came out like rubber cement - chewy and weird. Also the taste is bitter. Any tips on dosage per gummy or how to mask the flavor?

Hey! NAC is tricky bc it's acidic and can break down gelatin. For agar, you need to boil it longer. Try using a flavored syrup (like tart cherry) and add a pinch of stevia. Also, use a silicone mold and add lecithin to emulsify. What ratio did you use?

I've been making my own for months! NAC is sensitive to heat - max 140°F or it loses potency. Use gelatin (not agar) and bloom it in cold water first. Add the NAC powder after the gelatin dissolves, off heat. For taste, a drop of orange extract works wonders. Also, I do 250mg per gummy using a small mold.

Agreed on heat! And if you want vegan, use agar but lower the temp. I'd also suggest a bit of citric acid to balance the bitterness, but not too much or it'll affect gelling. Also, make sure your NAC is pure - some capsules have fillers that mess with texture.

Thanks all! I used 1g NAC per 1 cup liquid and it was way too strong. Will try lower dose and add flavors. Also think I overheated it. Gonna try again with your tips!
